Southern Right Whales and Humpback Whales can be seen from the rocks and even from the seafront restaurants in Hermanus during the ‘whaling’ season. The Whales return each year to Hermanus. Where the beautiful bay offers a sanctuary for them to mate and calf. The spectacular scene of Whales dancing in the waves and displaying their enormous yet graceful forms is one of wonder and one which can be witnessed by all visitors to Hermanus each year between July and January.
